From her first volume, Antique and Twentieth Century Jewellery, many of Vivienne’s books on both antique and contemporary jewellery have become standard works on their subject, particularly Art Nouveau Jewelry, (1985) and Fabulous Costume Jewellery (1988). She was invited to collaborate with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright on a book about her collection of brooches, Read My Pins: Stories from a Diplomat’s Jewel Box (2009) which soared to the top of the NY Times best-seller list. She has also contributed to a number of other books including Bejewelled by Tiffany, Beyond Extravagance, documenting the Al Thani collection of Indian jewellery, and Cartier Panthere. Vivienne has written numerous essays and catalogues for museums, antique dealers, contemporary jewellers and Sotheby’s and Christie’s.
